Kate Robinson leads the Strategic Insights team within Integrated Account Management (IAM) at Merck, tasked with developing strategies for the payer, provider, and employer customer segments and evolving Merck’s approach to value-based contracting and more broadly to price, value, and affordability.
Prior to this role, Kate served as leader of the Integrated Delivery System (IDS) team within IAM. The IDS team consisted of progressive and innovative IDSs in the US who were focused on building strategic relationships with these customers to address mutual areas of interest in improving population health outcomes.
Kate has also served as leader of the US Payer Marketing organization supporting primary care brands where her team was responsible for the development of customer segment brand strategy, including value proposition and contracting strategy. Previous marketing experience includes the US Market Lead for the Neuroscience and Ophthalmic franchises as well as multiple marketing roles supporting the atherosclerosis franchise, including managed care, hospital strategy, outcomes research, consumer strategy and promotion, and global strategy.
Kate joined Merck in 1995 as a Market Research Analyst in Merck’s Managed Care group. She held positions of increasing responsibility within Managed Care working as a manager supporting decision support systems, as a sales planner and as a customer manager with responsibility for customer contracting.
Prior to joining Merck, Kate worked as a business consultant in the health care space at Coopers & Lybrand and at The Sachs Group. Kate earned her bachelor degree in Economics and Community Health at Tufts University and an MBA at Harvard Business School.
